Barberville Pow wow at Pioneer Settlement

First Off, I would like to Praise the Great Spirit for all he provides.  We have been blessed to have 4 pow wows in a row in November and we are Very thankful for this.  Second ~ Apologies for taking so long to blog this pow wow, I had some difficulties with the Skycomp of late.

Barberville Pow wow 022a

This was a first time pow wow and will be taking the place of the Deltona Pow Wow from here on.  The people at the Pioneer Settlement for the Creative Arts were very Accommodating and are excited to have us all come back again next year.  If you have not visited there, they have a Museum, Farm, Indian Village, Country Store, Guided Tours, Workshops, Exhibits, and Festivals.  Learn more about it here: http://www.pioneersettlement.org/home.html

Ric Bird and Bird Chopper were MC and Drum this weekend with a Guest appearance from The Plainsmen Drum.  The dancers came out in support and it was a good pow wow with potential to grow into something Big.

Barberville Pow wow 025

It was good to see some of my favorite Warriors that I have not seen in a while.  As always we provide a service for the people and were able to help many people this weekend.  Again many Thanks to Creator for all that he provides.

Barberville Pow wow 004a

We have one more pow wow after this in Gainesville, Florida and will be able to take a much needed Holiday in order to work on things and restock the shop for the run we have starting at the first of the year.

Barberville Pow wow 040a

Short but sweet, that's all I have for now... I am actually typing this at the next pow wow, so.... more to come soon from Gainesville.

A Gathering of Eagles ~ Folkston Frontier Days.

2009 Folkston, GA 004

Here we had an Awesome Growing Pow Wow/Frontier Days put on by a group of Bear Clan Creeks in conjunction with some Georgia Cherokees.  And I must stress that Growing is a GOOD thing, as the old man said "Be not afraid of growing slowly, be afraid only of standing still."

2009 Folkston, GA 001

The grounds were Very Camper friendly both primitive and self contained RV.  **Note: Hot Showers on property as well   The circle was surrounded by ALL 50 State Flags!!! When have you ever seen that?? Even at a Veterans Affair.

Chi 012a

Chi Meeker the Owner and grounds keeper here works very hard to educate and make a comfortable place to Gather as family.  He has made a tractor into a train to take the kids for rides around the property at a minimal fee.  You can see the Largest smile on the train is the kid running the Engine.

2009 Folkston, GA 043

The Drum is growing as well, they have many more songs to learn and have started working on a few more with help from Karl this weekend.   Thanks again Little Brother, and Thank you sooo much for 49in' wit me on the 5 gal Drum

The pow wow was very good for the local community, many came out and many will continue to come out for this small Gathering put on by people that just want to share what they have with those who want to learn.

I spent most of the weekend fixing things, making things, and working on the computer.  Cyndy & Nelson camped with us and they helped immensely - As Always!  I was rewarded with an awesome gift of Deer Skull /Antlers witch I proceeded to share with more family that can use them.

So the pictures you will see are a mixture of pics Cyndy took with her cam and mine, and some I got to shoot when I did get out.  Just a really Great Feeling place, pow wow, and the Love made it all what we were there for.

Then of course the Big reason we all gathered to help and support this year was that Sybille and Matt got married Saturday night!!

Ok, so when we first got their on Monday to help Chi get ready, the guys were splitting wood and helping with anything Chi needed.  Then we heard a cat crying?!?  Sybille showed up thursday night and spotted the cat atop a Tall Pine tree YIKES!!  We guessed it at about 45 feet up, Mary Kent's son is the one who used spikes and my Milwaukee Strap to scale the thin Timber and retrieve the cat!

Well, they also had Cowboy shoots in between the dancing.  This was definitely different, but the public liked it!  The entire set-up was really great looking and I would definitely recommend this pow wow if you are in that neck of the woods.

On Saturday, Nelson & Cyndy went to Gainesville to support the Veterans Center one day event.  Those pics can be found here:

See y'all there

AIA Orlando Pow Wow and Travels

Greetings!  We just got done the AIA Orlando Pow wow last weekend and it was Fabulous!!  The people really come out of the woodwork to visit this pow wow.  The city of Orlando definitely NEEDS what the AIA does for it at this pow wow.  The amount of Healing that happened this weekend was immeasurable.  The Drum had an honor dance for the AIA Committee and a Pair of American Bald Eagles circled the Arena during this dance.

Honor031

It only got better from there, Robert Mirabal showed up at about 2pm and was interacting with the people and visiting before his evening concert.

Peggy042

Miss Peggy was very excited to meet him and get his autograph.  She is the AIA member that has been in the club the Longest.

As I said there was a LOT of healing going on, and for me there were two particular 'Old' issues that were Healed and helped me this weekend.  For this I am Thankful to Creator and as always Praise him.  To Donna and Alan ~ It was so very good to have you in the shop again!

AIA Orlando Cyndy Pics 2009 075

We were so Very busy in the shop, that I didn't get to take a lot of pics or video, but I have Cyndy's pictures posted.  She got some good ones of the dancers and of Robert Mirabal doing the Potato dance.  I think the video that I got at the end of his concert with the parting words and final song was Awesome and I encourage you to view it.

AIA Orlando Cyndy Pics 2009 040

Today we honor All Veterans as a Holiday, At pow wow we Honor All Veterans EVERY DAY.  Never Forget the sacrifices that have been made so that YOU can have the Freedoms you have today!!

AIA Orlando Cyndy Pics 2009 015

We have travelled to Georgia on Monday for yet another pow wow.  Forgive me for taking so long to blog and get the videos and such up, but electric is limited here.  We had an Awesome pow wow in Orlando and intend to do the same here in Georgia.

AIA Orlando Cyndy Pics 2009 093

In our travels Cyndy took a picture for me so that I could have a Behind the Behind the Outback Look at things!!!  And Please take a look at Captain Cosmos and his Magic Boat, he travels around on Faith, much like my husband and I.  I gifted him a stone Dolphin totem and he gifted me a sacred round rock from Michigan!

Georgia Travels Nov 2009 005

Well, I brought the rock into the restaurant we ate at, there where we met him.  And when we left, Nelson had told me that he thought ten people must have touched that rock just since I got it.  So that is what the journey of this gifted sacred rock shall be, I shall bring it to the people!

BoxofRocks

And speaking of rocks, Someone spilled a box of rocks all over the AIA pow wow
