Good Morning --
It was a pleasure meeting both of you in Perry on Saturday. I wanted to follow-up from our conversation about the Bureau's March 20th event. As I mentioned, this recognition event for National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day is the first one we have done at the state level. I am excited about the event and would like to invite you to participate and offer the blessing.
A little about the day. This day is set aside nation wide to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS and the devastation the virus is causing in the Native American population. I am including a link to some Florida statistical information. I also don't like stats and numbers, but these are disturbing. Florida ranks 3rd on the nation in terms of overall infected population and see an increase among our Native American population is leading to an increase in mobilizing our population.
I also encourage you to visit the National Native American AIDS Prevention Center website at www.NNAAPC.org for more specific information about March 20th.
My contact information is below. Please feel free to contact me via phone or email if you have any additional questions.
Thanks!
