AIA Orlando Pow Wow and Travels

Greetings!  We just got done the AIA Orlando Pow wow last weekend and it was Fabulous!!  The people really come out of the woodwork to visit this pow wow.  The city of Orlando definitely NEEDS what the AIA does for it at this pow wow.  The amount of Healing that happened this weekend was immeasurable.  The Drum had an honor dance for the AIA Committee and a Pair of American Bald Eagles circled the Arena during this dance.

Honor031

It only got better from there, Robert Mirabal showed up at about 2pm and was interacting with the people and visiting before his evening concert.

Peggy042

Miss Peggy was very excited to meet him and get his autograph.  She is the AIA member that has been in the club the Longest.

As I said there was a LOT of healing going on, and for me there were two particular 'Old' issues that were Healed and helped me this weekend.  For this I am Thankful to Creator and as always Praise him.  To Donna and Alan ~ It was so very good to have you in the shop again!

AIA Orlando Cyndy Pics 2009 075

We were so Very busy in the shop, that I didn't get to take a lot of pics or video, but I have Cyndy's pictures posted.  She got some good ones of the dancers and of Robert Mirabal doing the Potato dance.  I think the video that I got at the end of his concert with the parting words and final song was Awesome and I encourage you to view it.

We have travelled to Georgia on Monday for yet another pow wow.  Forgive me for taking so long to blog and get the videos and such up, but electric is limited here.  We had an Awesome pow wow in Orlando and intend to do the same here in Georgia.

AIA Orlando Cyndy Pics 2009 093

In our travels Cyndy took a picture for me so that I could have a Behind the Behind the Outback Look at things!!!  And Please take a look at Captain Cosmos and his Magic Boat, he travels around on Faith, much like my husband and I.  I gifted him a stone Dolphin totem and he gifted me a sacred round rock from Michigan!

Georgia Travels Nov 2009 005

Well, I brought the rock into the restaurant we ate at, there where we met him.  And when we left, Nelson had told me that he thought ten people must have touched that rock just since I got it.  So that is what the journey of this gifted sacred rock shall be, I shall bring it to the people!

BoxofRocks

And speaking of rocks, Someone spilled a box of rocks all over the AIA pow wow

Make Mine Freedom (1948)

This was passed to me in e-mail, very interesting that it was made in 1948.

This is one of a series of films produced by the Extension Department of Harding College to create a deeper understanding of what has made America the finest place in the world to live.

Armadillo teaches you how to protect yourself

Here we are on the peaceful preserve, spending some time with Nature and ourselves.  I always get inspired and get a Lot of crafting done when we are here.  We always have animal experiences too, this time its a young Armadillo that is living behind our camp.  He comes out a night mostly, but the other day we saw him in the afternoon.  He drove the dogs nutz, they had never seen this animal before   Matter of fact, most of their New Animal encounters have happened at our various preserves.  Well, anyways, I think this little guy has come to us at an interesting time in our walk.  One of my favorite online totem "look-up" sites is http://www.linsdomain.com/totems.htm

I want to give credit to that site for the info I am reposting, so check it out.

Peace 4 real ~ Love wrulf

Boundaries, Protection, Empathy

Armadillo wears its armor on its back,
its medicine is part of its body.
Its boundaries of safety are a part of its total being.
Adjust your rhythms and senses
and you will know what is safe and what is not.

Armadillo teaches you how to protect yourself
and when to let your defenses down.

Make yourself a energy body shield using Armadillo medicine.
Make a circle on a piece of paper and see it as a medicine shield.
Write in the circle all the things that you want to have, experience, and give you joy.
This shield will reflect what you are and what you will on an unconscious level.

When you receive an Armadillo totem, it is time to define your space.
You may have trouble saying "no" and are being taken for granted.

A Good Time was Had by ALL

The Fall Cox-Osceola gathering in Ft McCoy, Florida is always a Reunion Pow Wow.  All the Florida people have not had a Pow Wow for over 3 months and it is Usually good to see one another after this long Break.  I call it our "Vacation" Pow wow, because we don't work too hard here and just kick back, visit, catch up, and have fun!

2009 oct Cox-Osceola 044

The weather was Awesome, it cooled down and we actually had to run the heat a bit in the camper!  There were less vendors this year, which is always fine with me   The dancers came out, and as I say... A Good Time was Had by ALL!!

2009 oct Cox-Osceola 034

It's been a bit crazy around here, getting back into Floriduh and trying to get ready for the Fall gatherings here.  I didn't post anything about the Samson, Alabama Gathering - but it was Very nice.  The grounds out there are nice, they have added things every year, there are hook-ups for campers, and they tell me next year they hope to have a bath house.  It was small, but sometimes the smaller ones are a lot more meaningful.  you can see my videos on you tube from the Samson Pow wow here:

2009 oct Cox-Osceola 025a

We are out at the Preserve for a couple of weeks to try and fatten the store for AIA pow wow Orlando.  Then we have a small run of pow wows in November, and I think we may take December off.

2009 oct Cox-Osceola 012

Well, not completely off - I have been trying out a NEW Selling Site called Artfire.com - It is FREE and they are set up for e-commerce of your Handcrafted items.  I have had some sales off of there and are Pleased thus far.  Take a look at the shop, I have to add more items to it, which will happen later today (hopefully )

http://www.artfire.com/users/SixDirectionsTraders

Well, enough compuker stuff for today - it's beautiful and I need to get outside and enjoy the Preserve.  Peace & Love to those who truly have that in their hearts for us.  Pity & Forgiveness for those who do not.

Oh yaaa, one more thing... I have updated the Thundering Spirit Website, so Please check that out as well.   Performers have changed a bit.  www.ThunderingSpiritFamily.com

Not Just Behind the Outback, But Juss plain Behind!

Greetings, well I will check the GPS to be sure just where we are!  I am soo behind and I apologize.  Its been pretty crazy on the road since the whole flooding thing in Georgia.  I am finishing uploading the videos from Lawrenceville Georgia Pow wow now.

We did a small Gathering in Samson, Alabama this last weekend that was very nice!  The grounds are Awesome and they keep improving them each year.  They have electric hook-ups for RV's and a beautiful pavilion, it is way out in the woods - BUT let's face it... What Good Pow wow isn't?? LOL  I didn't get any pictures at all, but I got some videos - which are posted on you tube already: http://www.youtube.com/Spiderwrulf

Dave & Karen Wrede were there with some of their residents, Thunder was posed on top of the Native American Congressional Medal of Honor Memorial that is also out there.  Very Awesome job they did with that as well!  I am working on getting some of the pictures they took there.  I was rather busy sitting with Grandma and catching up on life and listening to her views on spirituality.  I felt very blessed to have that time and did not let much interrupt us.

I reflected back on the time I got to spend with my Nan after high school when I moved up with her.  I was the only one in the family that got that extra bonding time with her and I am feeling very blessed that I did, now that she has crossed.  I also believe that it may be the reason my older sister is so bitter at me.  She hides behind some sort of excuse over a few dollars, or something my mother did when my sister was 18, or the feeling that she was burdened having to take care of Father when he was deteriorating from Cancer - Whatever the reason, she has told me several years ago that she wants no connection with me, or anyone in the family apparently.  I pity her, but I will be here if/when she comes around.

Unlike some relationships that may Never be repaired, I have a commitment to my blood family - EVEN though they have decided to sever all ties - I will be here... Still thinking of them, still praying for them, still loving them - as The Great Spirit teaches me to be.  I praise and thank him for the Strength he gives me and the Challenges he sends my way.  For I know I am a better human for it in the long run.... and that is the key - I am only Human and you know what... You are Too!!  Never forget how fragile life is.

blood

Sorry for the sidetrack, but I guess that's what bloggs are for, ramblings of feelings, directions, events, and jusss life in general.  Again I Thank you all whole-heartedly for following along with us.  We will be getting back into Floriduh soon to do a few pow wows there, take care of some unfinished business, and stay warm through the winter.    The next pow wows we will be setting up at are Cox-Osceola, AIA Orlando, Barberville, and Gainesville.  Please visit www.SixDirectionsTraders.com pow wow page for all the details.
